The betrayal of Jesus by Judas Iscariot, one of his twelve famous disciples remains to be one of the darkest acts of treachery of all time.

Judas agreed to turn in and identify Jesus from a crowd to the Roman religious authorities for a mere 30 pieces of silver.

The New Testament describes how Judas guided the Roman soldiers to the garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus was offering his prayers. He then landed a kiss on Jesus’s cheek to help the Romans identify Jesus, which later led to his trial and death by crucifixion.
